Do
you find yourself butting up against the world or feel as if no matter how hard
you try, no matter how much effort you put out, you still cannot control your
destiny?
You are not alone. The only answer to this problem, I
discovered, is to surrender. Be literally ready to die rather than
continuing to live the same way. It is almost that extreme. It is
that serious. I'm not telling you to commit suicide, though. To the
contrary, I'm suggesting you open your life to really living! What I'm
suggesting is praying the empowerment prayer. You may pray a prayer of
empowerment to God or the
force you may call "Spirit" to discover how the empowerment prayer
works.
The
Empowerment Prayer
The
Empowerment Prayer goes something like this: "God, great spirit which flows
through all living things, love, which surrounds me, word, which fills me,
breath, which breathes through me, I ask you to enter my life and I surrender my
will to your will for my life. I'm not sure how everything works, but I
put absolutely trust and faith in your to guide my ship. I give you every
part of my emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual being.
I offer you every bit of my self I
can muster upon rising each day and will live every moment of my life for higher
power,
living in unconditional love and giving that unconditional love back to the world around
me. You have all of me... my spirit, my life, my breath. I thank you
and praise you. Amen."
This
is the basic form of the prayer I've said at many different times in my
life. It works for me in amazing ways. Use whatever description of God you
feel comfortable using -- I have found that the basis of this prayer is used in
some form or another in most religions. The importance is not the
semantics, the importance is the act of acknowledgement of your higher power,
and bringing your self back in tune with your spirit energy -- the spirit energy
of higher consciousness.
Whatever
words you choose to use, you will find your life will dramatically change when
you utter these words and say a prayer of this nature. Love will start
flowing to you. You may notice when you are judging yourself or others, and
recognize that this can change. You will start to see how your life may not be in complete
balance in certain areas. People who can help you will be intuitively
drawn to you. You will notice them more. Your purpose will become
more clear to you.
And
living, with purpose, in love for our self and others, is what life is all
about.
