ALL ABOUT THE NAME JOHN:
Although the name John creates the urge to be reliable and
responsible, we emphasize that it causes procrastination, lack of
confidence, and the inability to realize your goals and ambitions.
The name of John has made you serious-minded, responsible, and
stable.
You love the security of a home and family, you are fond of children,
and, as a parent you would be fair and understanding.
Although you have good business judgment, you are not aggressive in
your dealings because you do not like to create issues.
You would be successful in any position dealing with the public as
you have a diplomatic and tactful manner and possess a charming,
easy-going nature which puts people at ease.
People are drawn to you because they feel that you are patient, kind,
understanding, and responsive.
This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness,
contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the

More: by John LENNON |

John Lennon was a member of the Beatles, where he grew to such
enormous fame that the FBI had him as one of their most watched people.
Why? Because he was influential. Beatles' music was highly infectious,
and for good reason: four really fun guys were committed to creating
really fun music about love. John and Paul wrote in a way that connected
with you. More than that, John cared about things like stopping war,
environmental issues, and making a difference through love. IMAGINE
is still my favorite John Lennon song. I can imagine, John... |
|
|
 |
John Lennon was a true a renaissance man. He wrote beautiful music.
His political stands created controversies that made people get angry
and even more: he made people think. The world needs people like John
Lennon. Are you standing up for your principles? Left (John Lennon:
The Very Best of John Lennon) If you're a collector, buy the Definitive
Lennon, which includes many of John's best, including Just Like Starting
Over, Give Peace a Chance, Imagine, and more by John. If you just want
the best, buy Lennon Legend, which I feel is a decent compilation of
John's best songs. |
|
John Lennon made some great albums, and The Beatles WHITE album,
written partly by John Lennon, made a point: are we being marketed just
as people? A name? Are we another NUMBER? So many great songs are on
this album, including Revolution, Helter Skelter, Birthday, While My
Guitar Gently Weeps, and one of my favorites to play, Blackbird. Explore
the AspireNow Amazon store to find even more great Beatles albums. |
 |
Even MORE by John Lennon. I've also included Sgt. Pepper's Lonely
Heart's Club Band. One of my favorite endings to any song is the song on
this album where 70 pianos all hit a chord at the same time. The impact
is dramatic and I'm not sure it has been done since. If you're ever
feeling blue, put this on, you'll be happier in no time, yet, something
in you will change. |

You'd have to say we were fortunate that so much footage was
captured with John Lennon, perhaps by John or other people who loved
John, including Yoko, Paul, and others. Imagine is a decent biography of
this great musician. Have you seen it yet? Get your own copy or buy it
for a friend here. Most people who aspire to do great things will want
to see what John did to make a difference. He was a man of principles,
for sure. |

Elton John is one of the most magnificent performers of our century. As
a song-writer, he has written many top hits, including the soundtrack to
the wonderful motion picture, The Lion King. However, my favorite works
by Elton are his works co-written with Bernie Taupin, the fabulous
songwriter. As I kid, I grew up listening to Daniel, Crocodile Rock,
Rocket Man, Bennie And The Jets, and more. Enjoy Elton's CDs: Do you
have these? |

More by Elton John.
Elton 60: Live at Madison Square Garden features songs that I'll
guarantee you've never seen Elton perform in any other live performance
unless you were there. This DVD set features Elton in 5-star form,
according to Amazon reviews, and I'd have to agree. |
 |
Even more by Elton: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is a truly great
album. Probably even better than Captain Fantastic, which is an old
favorite that my bro and I used to listen to when we were young. Goodbye
Yellow Brick Road is an album that I felt was made in Elton's prime. Not
sure he ever got any better than this. |

I took a class on Conservation during my Freshman year of college. I
figured it would be an easy one in the middle of Finite Math, Business
Law, and other challenging classes that semester. I recall one week
where the teacher showed us movies on the Condor and the American Eagle.
While showing these movies, there was no script or talking. The
instructor just played John Denver as the message. At the time, I
thought it was kind of hokey. But now, years later, it's the one class
that stands out in my mind - even more than Astronomy, Jazz Band, and
Business Law. Give Rocky Mountain High a listen and maybe you'll
understand why, too. I think John Denver was one of the greatest folk
singers ever and he was a pioneer in showing he cared about the
environment. |
 |
Even more by John Denver. If you want to get into John Denver, like
I did while I wrote this page, you just might want to hear -- or maybe
even SEE more by John Denver. The Wildlife concert shows John playing
some of his best songs, in peak form. This is rated 5 stars by Amazon. I
want to buy this one as I only rented it for this publication. |

John Coltrane was a huge figure in jazz for three reasons. First, he
played with
Miles Davis on the most important jazz album of all time:
Kind of Blue. If you want to learn jazz, start here. What's more,
almost everyone who played with Miles was instrumental in jazz history.
Two, he stretched the boundaries of improvisation further than any
saxophonist before him. And Three, he was one of the first who played
SPIRITUAL JAZZ. When I play music, I try to play spiritually; to
make you feel something. And, that was why John Coltrane really
mattered. Because he did that. |
 |
Want more by John Coltrane? Try
A Love Supreme. It didn't dawn on me why this song really mattered
until I channeled into it at a live "free-jazz" gig at Dance Church (now
called The Woo) in San Luis Obispo. I started playing the riff, da daa
da dah... and next thing, the whole ROOM starts chanting
A...LOVE... SU--PREEEMM....over and over until it blew my mind. I've
played it at almost every gig since. This is spiritual music. This music
makes you go DEEP into the soul of jazz. Get free, go there, take a
chance. |

Coltrane: Giant Steps is important for one reason: Coltrane took the
standard changes and went one step higher. He proved you could go
outside of the box and still make the song work. Since then, musicians
around the world are trying to copy Coltrane. I had to give away my
Coltrane albums for over 10 years because I didn't want to copy him!
That's how
GIANT Coltrane's sound was. |

John McGlaughlin. John McGlaughlin was a famous guitarist from 1969
through the mid-1970's. He is best known for his work with Miles Davis
on Bitches Brew and In A Silent Way - both landmark jazz albums that
ushered in a new era of jazz-rock music. |
|
|
|
More by John McGlaughlin: John later founded the Mahavishnu
Orchestra, which played out-of-the-box music that I truly love. One song
in particular, the Dance of the Maya, from the album
The Inner Mounting Flame (left), is likely to drive most people out
of a room. But to the advanced musician, this is spiritual bliss. Same
with
much of the fusion on
Birds of Fire. |

Best known for his book series on Venus and Mars, where Self-help
author and speaker John Grey asserted that Men are from Mars, and Women
are from Venus. The title caught on with people and was a huge hit in
the mid-1990's. I remember reading the book myself at one point, to
learn more about Grey. He is now attempting to establish a name as a
business speaker and life purpose speaker. |

Captain John Smith |
Famous for the Legend of Pocahontas. I have always been drawn to
this story, perhaps because I believe I have a native American spirit
guide who leads me on my crazy and wild journey called AspireNow. This
guide is a feminine figure... she likes to bring me gifts. I wonder if
Pocahontas brought John Smith gifts. The real story is much more tragic
than the Disney cartoons, unfortunately, as Pocahontas' died a poor
prostitute, not a princess embraced by the early settlers as the cartoon
projected. |

you must have signed something rather important. How about the
Declaration of Independence? At a time when making such a statement
might have meant serious persecution for his family and friends, John
Hancock was not only the first to sign, but the largest signature on the
page. He was a patriot and pioneer in living for freedom. |

Saturday Night Live, The Best of John Belushi features
some of the funniest moments in this groundbreaking television show's
history with skits, humor, and more by John Belushi. He started the
irreverent humor jabs on Weekend Update and other funny skits. In
opinion, these weren't John's best moments, though. I'll share those
next. |

 |
One of the funniest movies of all time, The Blues Brothers
featured John Belushi in some of his greatest moments. I love the scene
where he sends Elwood to the car to write a check to pay the bar owner
after the band's first gig. And, a rare moment with Carrie Fisher
shooting at Belushi is a rare highlight. This movie, by John Belushi,
destroyed more cop cars than any movie made before The Bourne Identity
series of movies. Other highlights include a scene with Ray Charles and
another with Aretha Franklin, singing Think. |

John Belushi was known for being funny. But, if you asked any of the
SNL actors of his era, they'd tell you he wasn't just funny, but he was
an amazing Shakespearean actor, too. John had a natural charisma that
didn't always show up on film.
Continental Divide, which starred John Belushi demonstrates this
talent pretty well. |

overall, you typically like the guy. My favorite John Cusack movie is

John Elway was known for being the "king of comeback" while
quarterbacking the Denver Broncos. A former Stanford Quarterback, John
went on to glory in his latter years when the Broncos added a running
game and solid defense to John's brilliant passing attack, and won two
straight Super Bowls in the NFL. If you get yourself to Denver, though,
you'll quickly notice that John is now known as an automobile dealer as
much as he is former Quarterback. |

Book of Revelations, which is fascinating for the visions and prophesy
of a possible future, is also attributed to John. |

John Fogarty |
I won't list Fogarty albums because it irritates me when
I'm out dancing to a song by Kool & The Gang, Prince, or James Brown,

certainly not very funky. |

John Mayer is a modern pop-rock artist who plays with a

John Quelch was best known for being a pirate, whose
crew made off with quite a haul after plundering nine Portuguese ships
off the coast of Brazil. Quelch's pirate flag showed a naked pirate
holding up an hour glass (your time has run out) and the spear piercing
a heart. His run lasted a year until he was caught and tried for piracy
laws under the Admiralty act of England and therefore tried without a
jury. |
| |
John Steinbeck |
If you haven't read Of Mice and Men, The Grapes of Wrath,
or Cannery Row, you're missing out on John Steinbeck. Steinbeck
was best known for stories demonstrating the challenges of early
settlers in the Central-Northern California basin from Salinas to
Monterey. I read all of these books in high school and found the dark
and brooding Grapes of Wrath movie with Henry Fonda to be one of
the top movies of all-time. |

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, known more as J.R.R. Tolkien, wrote a
many popular fantasy-fiction books. The most popular of Tolkien's works
is The Hobbit, followed by the much darker story The Lord of the Rings.
"One Ring To Rule Them All" has a connotation that ties to the Beast in
Revelation. Clearly, Tolkien must have been familiar with this work, as
the shadow of Sauron seems like another word for Satan, if you ask me. |
