Concepts of Selling:  "The Letter of Agreement"

In selling situations, it is valuable to have letters or an email clarifying what you've agreed upon in your meeting.  This document should be sent no later than one (1) day following the meeting.

 

This is the format for the letter I like to utilize:

 

Dear Mr. Prospect,

 

I enjoyed meeting with you today to discuss your current (need or problem requiring solution).  

 

By (date), my company (or put in name) will provide the following:

    * - Description of analysis

    * - Description of competitive analysis

    * - Description of cost analysis showing time for solution to pay for itself

 

By (date) your company (or put in their name) will provide:

    * - description of pricing criteria

    * - technical specifics required to build proposal

    * - other details depending upon circumstance

 

Please confirm and/or email if you need to make changes to this letter of agreement.  How does that sound to you?
