The zone, to the person who isn't
very spiritual, probably freaks them out a little. But, to the spiritual
light-worker, the zone is simply a way of channeling our spiritual energy in
communion with the energy that is all around us. Does it just make sense that we
might experience a heightened sense of awareness and higher level of performance
if we are in this state?
People
who describe going into "the zone" describe this as a place where pain
or sickness does not exist. This occurs for athletes, musicians,
businesspeople; literally, everyone. The zone is our ability to focus our
psychic, mental, emotional, and physical energy into a force so pure that the
cords no longer affect performance. In other words, the zone is how we
really truly are!
I
once heard Michael Jordan, the famous basketball player, describe how the zone
worked for him, which I will paraphrase:
The zone is where time just slows down (or ceases to matter), where I can see
the whole floor, I know what to do, the rhythm is natural, and flow is easy, and
I do not have to think to know what to do.
As
a speaker, I remember when I was sick, but still scheduled to speak. I did
not have any way to cancel the speech, and wondered if I would possible make it
through it. About 30 seconds into the speech, I no longer thought about
being sick. It just simply wasn't an issue.
The
saxophone player in Dave Mathews Band was describing one time where he was
"sick as a skunk" and thought he'd never make it. He had
high fever, chills, and he couldn't eat. Yet, when he stepped up to the
microphone, by the second set he said he was so into the music that he
"forgot" he was sick. I, too, play the sax. And, yes, I
too have played through being sick due to this ability to go into the zone.
When
we go into the zone we are actually going into our spirit self, almost as if
detaching from our physical body. This is similar to what we do in
dreamland, or, occasionally, during sexual intimacy, as well.
When
you want to go into the zone, picture the times you've succeeded at this state.
Then take action to create and foster that experience. With repeated
success through the unity of physical and spiritual awareness you can
harness the power of "the zone" in your own life.
